Yes.  The government has published public health guidelines specifically confirming that tradespeople who work in people’s homes, such as domestic cleaners and housekeepers, plumbers, electricians and gas engineers etc can continue to work during ‘lockdown’ which includes tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3.

The government has advised that people can leave their home to: travel to work, go shopping for food or medicine, for exercise, and for any medical need.

Any of our self-employed domestic cleaners who use public transport will wear a face mask when travelling, in line with government guidelines.

We’ve also asked that they wash their hands before they start the cleaning work in your home.

Please provide an anti-bacterial (non-bleach) spray that kills 99.9% of bacteria.

  • Customers must contact the office on 01865 981220 or email us at admin@thmsoncleaning.co.uk to pause your cleaning sessions if:
  • Anybody in your home has developed symptoms of coronavirus, or is self-isolating.
  • You’re waiting for a coronavirus test result.
  • You’ve tested positive for coronavirus – this means you have coronavirus.
  • Customers must stay in another room while their cleaner is working and maintain social distancing of 2 meters at all times.
  • Customers to wash cleaning cloths and mop covers at a high temperature (60°C or above) after every use.
  • Please provide either disposable gloves or washable gloves for the cleaner to use. One set for the kitchen and a separate set for the bathroom(s). It is advisable that you wash gloves after every use.
  • We’ve advised our self-employed cleaners to wash their hands on arrival at your home and before leaving.
  • We’ve advised our self-employed  cleaners to wear gloves throughout their cleaning / ironing session.
  • Open windows where possible for ventilation.
  • Avoid shaking dirty laundry and soft furnishings such as bath mats and rugs.
  • The government advice is for people to wear a face-covering in enclosed spaces where social distancing is not always possible and you come into contact with others you do not normally meet.
  • Special attention should be paid to “high touched” areas such as: door and cupboard handles, light switches, tables, countertops etc
  • We have asked our self-employed cleaners to let you know, and our office know if she or anybody in her household were to develop symptoms of coronavirus or is self-isolating.
